Catholic Counselling Service

What is Counselling?

Many of us carry a lot of pain around with us, it may be because you may be in crisis and or experiencing anxiety, depression, or general unease. You may just want a safe space to explore your own sense of well-being. This orientation is broadly cognitive-behavioural which means that clients will be shown how the way we think influences the way we feel and then behave. You will be shown how you can change your habitual ways of thinking by, for example, identifying negative thought processes.

A counsellor will not give you their opinions or advice or prescribe medication. They will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways to cope with your problems.

Ray welcomes couples experiencing difficulties in their marital / family relationships.

Who is our counsellor?

Dr Ray Aldridge-Morris BA DipClinPsych PhD CPsychol AFBPsS

Ray is a chartered clinical psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Most recently Ray was an NHS consultant and Head of Primary Care Psychology in East London.
